Trade Paperback. Publisher: Hachette UK Distribution | 2023 | Trade Paperback | 560 p. | This book is brand new. | Language: Engelska --- Information regarding the book: This is the age of vice, where pleasure and power are everything, and the family ties that bind can also kill New Delhi, 3 a.m. A speeding Mercedes jumps the kerb, and in the blink of an eye five people are dead. It's a rich man's car, but when the dust settles there is no rich man at all, just a shell-shocked servant who cannot explain the strange series of events that led to this crime. Nor can he foresee the dark drama that is about to unfold. Deftly shifting through time and perspective in contemporary India, Age of Vice is an epic, action-packed story propelled by the seductive wealth, startling corruption, and bloodthirsty violence of the Wadia family-loved by some, loathed by others, feared by all. In the shadow of lavish estates, extravagant parties, predatory business deals, and calculated political influence, three lives become dangerously intertwined: Ajay is the watchful servant, born into poverty, who rises through the family's ranks. Sunny is the playboy heir who dreams of outshining his father, whatever the cost. And Neda is the curious journalist caught between morality and desire. Against a sweeping plot fueled by loss, pleasure, greed, yearning, violence, and revenge, will these characters' connections become a path to escape, or a trigger of further destruction? Equal parts crime thriller and family saga, transporting readers from the dusty villages of Uttar Pradesh to the urban energy of New Delhi, Age of Vice is an intoxicating novel of gangsters and lovers, false friendships, forbidden romance, and the consequences of corruption. It is binge-worthy entertainment at its literary best. | We have this book in our store house - please allow for a couple of extra days for delivery., 0, Cambridge Massachusetts: Vanguard Press, 2008. may be first edition has full numbering line. Famed Charles Manson prosecutor and three time #1New York Timesbestselling author Vincent Bugliosi has written the most powerful, explosive, and thought-provoking book of his storied career. I remember some of his earlier books I are really enjoyed I thought he was dead I guess he still alive....InThe Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder, Bugliosi presents a tight, meticulously researched legal case that puts George W. Bush on trial in an American courtroom for the murder of nearly 4,000 American soldiers fighting the war in Iraq. Bugliosi sets forth the legal architecture and incontrovertible evidence that President Bush took this nation to war in Iraq under false pretensesa war that has not only caused the deaths of American soldiers but also over 100,000 innocent Iraqi men, women, and children; cost the United States over one trillion dollars thus far with no end in sight; and alienated many American allies in the Western world. As a prosecutor who is dedicated to seeking justice, Bugliosi, in his inimitable style, delivers a non-partisan argument, free from party lines and instead based upon hard facts and pure objectivity. A searing indictment of the President and his administration,The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murderalso outlines a legally credible pathway to holding our highest government officials accountable for their actions, thereby creating a framework for future occupants of the oval office. Vincent Bugliosi calls for the United States of America to return to the great nation it once was and can be again. He believes the first step to achieving this goal is to bring those responsible for the war in Iraq to justice......Title The Prosecution of George W. Two of Bugliosis other booksAnd the Sea Will TellandOutragealso reached #1 on theNew York Timeshardcover bestseller list. No other American true-crime writer has ever had more than one book that achieved this ranking. His latest book,Reclaiming History: The Assassination of President John F. Kennedy, has been heralded as epic and a book for the ages. Bugliosi has uncommonly attained success in two separate and distinct fields, as an author and a lawyer. His excellence as a trial lawyer is best captured in the judgment of his peers. Bugliosi is as good a prosecutor as there ever was, Alan Dershowitz says. F. Lee Bailey calls Bugliosi the quintessential prosecutor. There is only one Vince Bugliosi. Hes the best, says Robert Tanenbaum, for years the top homicide prosecutor in the Manhattan D.A.s office. Most telling is the comment by Gerry Spence, who squared off against Bugliosi in a twenty-one-hour televised, scriptless docu-trial of Lee Harvey Oswald, in which the original key witnesses to the Kennedy assassination testified and were cross-examined. After the Dallas jury returned a guilty verdict in Bugliosis favor, Spence said, No other lawyer in America could have done what Vince did in this case. Bugliosi lives with his wife, Gail, in Los Angeles..... .....Buying used books is the green way to recycle,, read,, gift, explore..Since I am not a thrift shop, have no minions, am not a megastore, my books are priced so after everyone else gets theirs, I make it least a small profit to cover my time, and costs and efforts.
