[Bearbeiten] 1964 - 1966 Erste Erfolge mit Folk-Rock Besetzung 1964 - 1966 Gesang / Gitarre: Roger McGuinn Gesang / Gitarre: Gene Clark Gesang / Gitarre: David Crosby Gesang / Bass: Chris Hillman Schlagzeug: Michael Clarke Alben 21. Juni 1965 Mr. Tambourine Man 6. Dez. 1965 Turn! Turn! Turn! Januar 1965 Mr. Tambourine Man aufgenommen. Die Gene Clark Komposition I Knew I'd Want You wurde als B-Seite ausgewählt. All I Really Want To Do, veröffentlicht. 1966 - 1967 Die Byrds ohne Gene Clark Besetzung 1966 - 1967 Gesang / Gitarre: Roger McGuinn Gesang / Gitarre: David Crosby Gesang / Bass: Chris Hillman Schlagzeug: Michael Clarke Alben 18. Juni 1966 Fifth Dimension 6. 1968 Gram Parsons und Country-Musik Besetzung 1968 Gesang / Gitarre: Roger McGuinn Gesang / Bass: Chris Hillman Gesang / Gitarre / Keyboard: Gram Parsons Schlagzeug: Kevin Kelley Alben 15. Jan. 1968 The Notorious Byrd Brothers 30. 1968 - 1969 Die Byrds ohne Chris Hillman Besetzung 1968 - 1969 Gesang / Gitarre: Roger McGuinn Gesang / Gitarre: Clarence White Gesang / Bass: John York Gesang / Schlagzeug: Gene Parsons Alben 5. & 1969 - 1973 Erfolge als Live-Band Besetzung 1969 - 1971 Gesang / Gitarre: Roger McGuinn Gesang / Gitarre: Clarence White Gesang / Bass: Skip Battin Gesang / Schlagzeug: Gene Parsons Alben 14. The Notorious Byrd Brothers is the fifth album by the American rock band The Byrds and was released in January 1968 on Columbia Records. Musically, the album represents the pinnacle of The Byrds' psychedelic experimentation, with the band blending together elements of folk rock, psychedelic rock, country music, electronic music, baroque pop and jazz on many of the songs. Of these disparate styles, the subtle country and western influences evident on a number of tracks pointed towards the full-blown country rock direction that the band would pursue on their next album. In addition, The Notorious Byrd Brothers saw the band and record producer Gary Usher making extensive use of a number of studio effects and production techniques, including phasing, flanging, and spatial panning. The Byrds also introduced the sound of the pedal steel guitar and the Moog modular synthesizer into their music for the first time on the album, making it one of the first LP releases on which the Moog appears. Although The Notorious Byrd Brothers was critically praised at the time of its release, it was only moderately successful commercially, particularly in the United States. However, the album is today widely considered to be one of The Byrds' best LP releases, as well as their most experimental and progressive.
