While, however, sugar producers will be wise to adopt any new process which tends to economy, it behoves them to investigate any such new process to the fullest extent, and to satisfy themselves before adopting it that it will in reality conduce to the end sought, and that its promises will not fail to be fulfilled upon its practical adoption. It is well known that under the system which generally prevails, the quantity of cane juice obtained is considerably below that which actually exists in the sugar cane.
