This is a book of days good for any year with important events and amusing anecdotes from the history of philosophy for virtually every day of the year. It is illustrated with drawings of 60 different philosophers - men and women - from several cultures and timeperiods, including classical antiquity, ancient china, medieval Europe (Christian, Jewish, and Muslim), Modern Europe, and the Twentieth Century. Many of the drawings feature interesting facts about the philosophers, or portray notable events in their lives. All drawings are by the author; a sample of his philosophical drawings is available on the website of the philosophy department of the University of Connecticut, and several of his drawings have been published in the British popular magazine Philosophy Now. This book will be of interest to students of philosophy past and present who have the suspicion that the writers they've studied were real human beings who led interesting lives. This book has also been featured at the recent meeting of the American Philosophical Association, and is advertised in Philosophy Now. used books, books Books, Infusionmedia Publishing<
