This is the story of my year long residency in a very alien culture right here on planet Earth, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) post 9/11. We initially resided in Riyadh and then moved to Khamis Mushayt near Yemen and the Red Sea. I left Colorado in the year 2006 and arrived in Saudi Arabia in the year 1426, according to the Muslim Hijira calendar, and soon realized I wasn't in 'Kansas' anymore. I left Colorado in the year 2006 and arrived in Saudi Arabia in the year 1426, according to the Muslim Hijira calendar, and soon realized I wasn't in 'Kansas' anymore. Included in this book are some never before published pictures of three separate car bombings that occurred simultaneously on three different Western compounds in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 2003 where many were killed and many more injured. Bombings also took place at Khobar Towers in Dhahran and a Boeing contractor was kidnapped and beheaded in Riyadh in 2004.
