[PU: Pocket Bks. 96], SIGNED, MYSTERY, FICTION, MYSTERIES PLUS SIGNED BOOKS CATALOGUE 0-671-89876-0, Jacket, ISBN:0-671-89876-0. SIGNED in person, book and spine ends creased, otherwise a very good book and dustjacket. A John Cuddy mystery. Cuddy has a visitor to his office on Boston Commons, Olga Evorova. She is thinking of getting married to Andrew Dees and she wants a background check on her beloved before she ties the knot. Cuddy looks on this as a routine case that will leave him time to make time with his sweetie, Assistant D. A. Nancy Meagher. Not to be. Events become difficult when John travels to Cape Cod to view Dee's condo in a mediocre town called Plymouth Mills. Upon questioning the condo manager and Dee's neighbors, Cuddy feels that all is not well. Everyone tells a credible story, but something seems wrong to our hero, e specially when two hoodlums corner him later that night in a Boston parking lot and tell him to keep away from Dee's place. This raises the question as to whether Dee is in collaboration with the mob. When Cuddy enlists the help of an old friend, he soon learns that knowledge is trouble. Before long his personal life begins to deteriorate while he is struggling with a puzzle that concerns his client and is bizarre and dangerous for all concerned. A good read!

Invasion of Privacy: A John Cuddy Mystery (Terrific Series , No 11) - gebrauchtes Buch

Healy's creation, the reflective Boston-based private investigator John Cuddy, first caught our attention by doing homey, believable things like visiting his wife's grave and asking her advice. Eleven books into the series, Healy still manages to mix the homey touches with moments of high drama, keeping the balance perfect. When a woman banker hires Cuddy to check on her new lover's nonexistent past, he soon realizes the man is a protected government witness. Other writers would have left it there, but Healy builds an additional scaffold as intriguing as it is dangerous for everyone concerned. (Past Cuddy books: Act of God, Blunt Darts, Rescue, Right to Die, Shallow Graves, Foursome, So Like Sleep, Swan Dive, Yesterday's News). literature and fiction, mystery, mystery thriller and suspense Mystery, Pocket Books
