Gray Technologies Press. Paperback. New. Paperback. 100 pages. Dimensions: 8.0in. x 5.0in. x 0.2in.ABOUT THE BOOK Rocking in a Free World is a collection of poems on freedom. The book is divided into four chapters on independence, journey, struggle, and celebration. Each chapter explores one of these topics with respect to freedom. Independence cultivates freedom. Journey leads to freedoms evolution. Struggle is inevitable and constant. Conflicts occur at so many levels within and between societies, but in all cases there is celebration of the victories through art. In a world of free will, freedom is a priceless natural resource without ownership. Freedom is a natural right of each one of us. Rocking in a Free World combines various elements of artistic expression with historical bearing and recent global events in a poetic articulation of the development of pure freedom in a human context. Without chaos there is no peace, without struggle there is no celebration. These are the concepts of a collection of poetry, titled, Rocking in a Free World, by Mark Allen Gray. Grays style is point blank poetry. His words are honest and clear; his meaning is obvious. His artful intent is complete with self-made symbols for each chapter. It was a delight to read this book and reflect on his purpose. - BookReview. com ABOUT THE AUTHOR Mark Allen Gray holds a Master of Science degree in computer science from Johns Hopkins University. Dimensions: 8.9in. x 5.9in. x 0.9in.This book tackles an increasingly crucial question: What can we do about the seemingly intractable challenges confronting all of humanity today, including climate change, global hunger, water scarcity, environmental stress, and economic instability The quick answers are: Build topsoil. Fix creeks. Eat meat from pasture-raised animals. Scientists maintain that a mere 2 percent increase in the carbon content of the planets soils could offset 100 percent of all greenhouse gas emissions going into the atmosphere. But how could this be accomplished What would it cost Is it even possible Yes, says author Courtney White, it is not only possible, but essential for the long-term health and sustainability of our environment and our economy. Right now, the only possibility of large-scale removal of greenhouse gases from the atmosphere is through plant photosynthesis and related land-based carbon sequestration activities. These include a range of already existing, low-tech, and proven practices: composting, no-till farming, climate-friendly livestock practices, conserving natural habitat, restoring degraded watersheds and rangelands, increasing biodiversity, and producing local food. In Grass, Soil, Hope, the author shows how all these practical strategies can be bundled together into an economic and ecological whole, with the aim of reducing atmospheric CO2 while producing substantial co-benefits for all living things. Soil is a huge natural sink for carbon dioxide. If we can draw increasing amounts carbon out of the atmosphere and store it safely in the soil then we can significantly address all the multiple challenges that now appear so intractable. If so, then you have paused at the right place! The history of humanity is a vast woven tapestry trailing through time, patterned with all the hopes and dreams, lives and loves of millions who have gone before. It is vibrant with the colors of the world, proud accomplishments, the memories of noisy existences. Look closer, between the threads, it is different. There is blackness, an unbroken expanse of oblivion. Since the prehistoric dawn of humanity, while death has haunted everyones footsteps, religion has stood firm in defence. The Geologic Model of Religion is a sympathetic study of this defence from the beginning until the projected end. It draws upon archaeology, anthropology and comparative religion to clearly explain one of the most complex subjects known, and: Decomposes religion into its distinct Worldview and Afterlife paradigms. . . Identifies six long lost Prehistoric Religions, culminating in the ancient Temples of Rebirth. . . How Spirituality began with the Neolithic revolution and they spread together. . . Why Judgment in Afterlife was the keystone in the emerging edifice of civilization. . . How the interaction between Science and Religion is actually unfolding. . . Dimensions: 9.0in. x 6.0in. x 0.9in.The 1994 Rwandan genocide, in which more than 800, 000 Tutsi and moderate Hutu were massacred in just 100 days, was an unparalleled modern-day slaughter. How does a nation pick up the pieces after the killing has stopped In a gripping narrative that examines the power of the press and sheds light on how the media turned tens of thousands of ordinary Rwandans into murderers, award-winning author and journalist Dina Temple-Raston traces the rise and fall of three media executives -- Ferdinand Nahimana, Jean-Bosco Barayagwiza, and Hassan Ngeze. From crime to trial to verdict, Temple-Raston explores the many avenues of justice Rwanda pursued in the decade after the killing. Focusing on the media trial at the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda, she then drops down to the level of the hills, where ordinary Rwandans seek justice and retribution, and examines whether politics in the East African nation has set the stage for renewed violence. In the months leading up to the killing, two local media outlets, Radio Tlvision Libre des Mille Collines (RTLM) and the tabloid newspaper Kangura, warned that a bloody confrontation was brewing. No one would be spared, they said. Observers said later that fearmongering from RTLM and Kangura played a key role in igniting the genocide, so much so that the three men behind the media outlets became the first journalists since Nuremberg to be tried in an international court for crimes against humanity. Drawing on extensive interviews with key players, Dina Temple-Raston brings to life a cast of remarkable characters: the egotistical newspaper editor Hassan Ngeze; hate radio cofounders, the intellectual Ferdinand Nahimana and the defiant legal scholar Jean-Bosco Barayagwiza; an American-led prosecution team wary of a guilty verdict that might bring a broadly written judgment muzzling the press the world over; the bombastic American defense attorney John Floyd; heroic Damien Nzabakira, who risked his life to drive forty orphans to safety only to spend eight years in prison accused of their murder; and Bonaventure Ubalijoro, a Rwandan diplomat and politician who believed in miracles. An extraordinary feat of reporting and narrative, Justice on the Grass reveals a Rwanda few have seen. A searing and compassionate book, Justice on the Grass illustrates how, more than a decade later, a country and its people are still struggling to heal, to forgive, and to make sense of something that defies credibility and humanity. So, put on your seatbelt and prepare to be thrust headlong into the world of conspiracy reality. In Monumental Myths, Ty Bollinger welcomes you into a scenic tour of some of the most outrageous events in our modern history - and he is an excellent tour guide. Youll move at a good pace, knocking back topic after topic with gusto. You wont be bogged down with the kind of tedious excess that is the death of most PBS-endorsed political guidebooks, but neither will you lose essential and enlightening detail. And Tys good-humored, common-sense but well-reasoned approach will keep you involved (and smiling) throughout, wanting to see what big lie gets skewered next. The events are covered, major and minor, from JFK to GMO, Boston to Waco, aspartame to Oklahoma City, fluoride to Monsanto-land, MLK, chemtrails and beyond. The book functions as a kind of greatest hits, or sportsmans guide to a World Series of Conspiracy. Ty brings that feeling to his work: the love of a good sports writer for a game. The game here is our history of national and international deception, played by the jackals whove manipulated their way into power. Most authors take on one issue to excess, burying us in useless and irrelevant data, without drawing our eye to the hundred similar (or identical) events on the horizon. But what we really want - and what Ty delivers - is a compendium, a means to compare and contrast the lies of history: how much better it is to have it all laid out in one, colorful, entertaining volume. And whats wrong with being entertaining The bad guys dont know what to do when the truth-tellers crack wise and get funny - it throws them off their pitch. So much the better for the truth-seekers that we keep our sense of humor - and Ty certainly does. Even when the material goes into dark country, even when were faced with acts of willful destruction so callous, brutal and monstrous youd think wed just lay down and give up, Ty marshals us on by shining a light on the things that make us human: our curiosity, wit and humor, compassion, integrity, critical thinking; and, thank goodness, the thing that governments and media ignore - our irreplaceable common sense. Liam Scheff, author of Official Stories. Why did Monumental Myths need to be written To fill the monumental gaps in the real history not taught to most Americans! And Ty Bollinger is just the man for the job, covering a comprehensive array of events from perspectives unapproved by any government agency, but guaranteed to cure your historical deficiency diseases. The time is right and the people are finally hungry enough to see through the empty calories fed to us by the mainstream media. What Ty has done with this book is to satisfy the most voracious of appetites for those who are the hungriest to know what has gone wrong over the last 100 years right up until today. With great breadth, depth and humor, prepare to have your historical and contemporary chakras aligned to see through some of the most monumental myths that, up until this point, have misled generations of freedom-loving people into misinformational bondage. I cant thank Ty enough for putting all of this information into one book! Robert Scott Bell, Syndicated host of the Robert Scott Bell Show. This item ships from multiple locations.
