The Hidden, The Crystal Myth, is a spiritual novel, part sci-fi and part inspirational fiction with a philosophical and mystical sentiment. It is based on the experiences of a humble and psychic woman who, while writing her own novel about the human-alien hybrid theory, discovers the truth about the origins of humanity. The main character's novel is interspersed throughout the story of The Hidden, making it almost a book within a book. The book is set in the present time of the new millennium edging closer to 2012 and in parallel to our own world, so there is much upheaval and uncertainty. The current upheavals and paranoia of the time set the scene for the dialogs and philosophical writings of the main character, who unknowingly at first is channeling aliens of a benevolent and advanced race. The story revolves around some very human characters, the discovery of an incredible artifact that proves the origin of the human race and the introduction of the fourth dimension to human consciousness. These phenomenons take humanity into another level of perception. The powers that seek to control the world, thwart unity and promote hatred cannot stop the process of the earth's transcendence. The characters are guided throughout the book, and even some of the darker characters who seek to conceal the information begin to become transformed themselves. It is an uplifting but grounded fantasy for the human soul. The story ends with the birth of a new myth and a new way to see humanity and ourselves. Weight:0.62 lbs, Dog Ear Publishing, 5/29/2012 0:00:00, Paperback. New. Paperback. What matters is not so much that iek is endorsing a demythologized, disenchanted Christianity without transcendence, as that he is offering in the end (despite what he sometimes claims) a heterodox version of Christian belief. --John MilbankTo put it even more bluntly, my claim is that it is Milbank who is effectively guilty of heterodoxy, ultimately of a regression to paganism: in my atheism, I am more Christian than Milbank. --Slavoj iekIn this corner, philosopher Slavoj iek, a militant atheist who represents the critical-materialist stance against religions illusions; in the other corner, Radical Orthodox theologian John Milbank, an influential and provocative thinker who argues that theology is the only foundation upon which knowledge, politics, and ethics can stand. In The Monstrosity of Christ, iek and Milbank go head to head for three rounds, employing an impressive arsenal of moves to advance their positions and press their respective advantages. By the closing bell, they have not only proven themselves worthy adversaries, they have shown that faith and reason are not simply and intractably opposed. iek has long been interested in the emancipatory potential offered by Christian theology. And Milbank, seeing global capitalism as the new centurys greatest ethical challenge, has pushed his own ontology in more political and materialist directions. Their debate in The Monstrosity of Christ concerns the future of religion, secularity, and political hope in light of a monsterful event--God becoming human. For the first time since ieks turn toward theology, we have a true debate between an atheist and a theologian about the very meaning of theology, Christ, the Church, the Holy Ghost, Universality, and the foundations of logic. The result goes far beyond the popularized atheisttheist pointcounterpoint of recent books by Christopher Hitchens, Richard Dawkins, and others. iek begins, and Milbank answers, countering dialectics with paradox. The debate centers on the nature of and relation between paradox and parallax, between analogy and dialectics, between transcendent glory and liberation. Slavoj iek is a philosopher and cultural critic. He has published over thirty books, including Looking Awry, The Puppet and the Dwarf, and The Parallax View (these three published by the MIT Press). John Milbank is an influential Christian theologian and the author of Theology and Social Theory: Beyond Secular Reason and other books. Creston Davis, who conceived of this encounter, studied under both iek and Milbank. This item ships from multiple locations. At the forefront of a new generation of UFOlogists, Micah Hanks is someone who isnt afraid to tackle new paradigms, ideas, and theories. The future of flying saucer seeking is in good hands!--Nick Redfern, author of The NASA ConspiraciesMicah Hanks is an invaluable source of data, esoterica, and intellectual banter. --Scott Alan Roberts, author of The Rise and Fall of the NephilimWhy and how are past unexplained phenomena changing our futureWhere will transcending the bounds of current thinking leadHow near is the singularityThe UFO Singularity finally reveals what UFO phenomena can tell us about greater-than-human intelligence, and offers provocative theories of where such intelligence might originate. Youll explore the most challenging metaphysical questions and the latest scientific thoughts about them, including: What is the singularity, and how does it relate to UFOsCould some UFOs be from our plane Could they actually be time travelers from our futureWhat current scientific trends are leading us to the kinds of advanced technology weve observed in various UFO reportsAre there other ways in which UFOs could be considered extraterrestrial visitors in our midst, even if they didnt get here in the way that most people think (via interplanetary space flight) This item ships from multiple locations. Your book may arrive from Roseburg,OR, La Vergne,TN, Momence,IL, Commerce,GA., This book identifies the land ethic as the best candidate for an environmental ethic. The land ethic is a secular, nonanthropocentric, holistic-ecocentric environmental ethic that was initially conceptualized by the naturalist, Aldo Leopold, and later historically expanded and conceptually developed by the philosopher, J. Baird Callicott. The land ethic is grounded in the science of ecology and evolutionary biology. The main purpose of this book, however, is not to specifically justify the advancement of the land ethic, but rather to evaluate whether it can be embraced by Catholicism. Meaning, are the scientific, conceptual, and logical foundations of the land ethic conducive with Catholic theology? The hypothesis of this book is that Catholicism does have adequate scientific, philosophical, and theological foundations to embrace the land ethic as a viable environmental ethic. In this book, the Catholic Magisterium’s perspective on the environmental crisis is evaluated through the review of pertinent Church documents and writings. Principally, the Church’s implicit theology of the cosmic Christ is thoroughly evaluated and, then, expanded to an explicit cosmic christology as conceptualized in the writings of Pierre Teilhard de Chardin and other Catholic theologians and scientists. This conceptualized cosmic christology (presented as compatible with ecology and Catholic doctrine) could function—in the context of the ongoing environmental crisis—as a Christian panentheistic ecocentrism (with an accompanying eschatology of hope) that is fairly compatible with the holistic-nonanthropocentric ecocentrism of the land ethic. Despite the title’s cosmic implications, this book does not directly promote the contemporary New Age movements nor their associated beliefs. It, also, does not promote creationism, Intelligent Design Theory or any other theories, which regard contemporary evolutionary biology as completely fallacious. This book recognizes the validity of ecology within its scientific context. At the same time, it also recognizes that one can potentially acquire a much deeper understanding of the ecological reality of life from a religious perspective. This book is not evangelical, though, at times, it attempts to be persuasive in absence of scientific evidence, which is often the case when dealing with the subjectivity of religion and environmental ethics. Defining the intrinsic value of the natural environment is extremely difficult and complicated—scientifically unapproachable. Yet, even though the reality of the world’s beauty transcends scientific understanding, it inspires humanity to pursue its mystery and preserve its integrity. Weight:1.99 lbs, CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform, 5/17/2013 0:00:00, Orient BlackSwan/ Universities Press, 2010. .. Softcover. New. .. .. This book is an expanded text for a graduate course in commutative algebra, focusing on the algebraic underpinnings of algebraic geometry and of number theory. Accordingly, the theory of affine algebras is featured, treated both directly and via the theory of Noetherian and Artinian modules, and the theory of graded algebras is included to provide the foundation for projective varieties. Major topics include the theory of modules over a principal ideal domain, and its applications to matrix theory (including the Jordan decomposition), the Galois theory of field extensions, transcendence degree, the prime spectrum of an algebra, localization, and the classical theory of Noetherian and Artinian rings. Later chapters include some algebraic theory of elliptic curves (featuring the Mordell-Weil theorem) and valuation theory, including local fields. One feature of the book is an extension of the text through a series of appendices. This permits the inclusion of more advanced material, such as transcendental field extensions, the discriminant and resultant, the theory of Dedekind domains, and basic theorems of rings of algebraic integers. An extended appendix on derivations includes the Jacobian conjecture and Makar-Limanov``s theory of locally nilpotent derivations. Gröbner bases can be found in another appendix. Exercises provide a further extension of the text. The book can be used both as a textbook and as a reference source. Printed Pages: 456., Orient BlackSwan/ Universities Press, 2010, GODS, GENES, CONSCIENCE delves deeply, and portrays succinctly, the nature of our millennia-old body-soul and spirit-mind paradoxes, including those of our earliest shamanic quests, and material conquests, for survival: From our innate dreams, to religious self-contradictions-corruptions-conflicts-destructions; to arts-linguistics; to socioeconomics-geopolitics; to science-technology; and to reason-sensibility-sanity-faith. Specifically, this pop-science-first-book author, Mong H Tan, PhD, fathoms links among the chaos-orders of the evolutionary interstellar fabrics of Space, Time, Energy, and Matter; or the cosmic STEM matrixes-entities in the Universe that are all around us: From the creations of Life-Genes on Earth, to the ultimate, unique, unbound capacity-capability of our Mind-Gods within, in our brain or memophorescenicity, a new unified quantum Mind theory pursued from an empiricist electrochemical particle-wave or Yin-Yang propensities of holism-cosmology; a critical readers Theory of Everything, Biogenesis-Meanings and all. Epistemologically-memophorescenically, in and by all accounts, intellectual and spiritual; Dr. Tans critical inquiries, philosophical and psychological; his timely anatomy-synthesis of the STEM origins (particularly those of our genetics-mnemonics; our fast-advancing knowledge, consciousness, freewill, and conscience regarding Gods; and our ultimate wisdom of cherishing Life on Earth) have no doubt been sharpened, enriched, and transcended by the vast, fast advances in science-technology, multiculturalism, and pluralism of the East-West, today and beyond.
