Cross-national Policy Convergence: Concepts, Causes and Empirical Findings (Journal of European Public Policy Special Issues as Books) - gebunden oder broschiert

ISBN: 041537491X

[SR: 5883037], Hardcover, [EAN: 9780415374910], Routledge, Routledge, Book, [PU: Routledge], Routledge, A fresh analysis of policy convergences across nations, which identifies their key driving forces. To what extent and in which direction can we empirically observe a convergence of national policies? In which areas and for which patterns of policy is convergence more or less pronounced? This text addresses these central questions with clarity and rigour. With growing economic and institutional interlinkages between nation states, it is often assumed that there is an overall trend towards increasingly similar policies across countries. Comparative research on the domestic impact of globalization and European integration, however, reveals that policy convergence can hardly be considered as a dominant and uniform tendency which can be taken for granted. Although a number of factors have been suggested in order to account for the rather mixed empirical picture, we still have limited knowledge about the causes and conditions of cross-national policy convergence. In particular, the central mechanisms and conditions affecting both degree and level of cross-national policy convergence are yet not well understood. This book will be of great interest to all students and scholars of the European Union, European politics, and international relations. This is a special issue of the leading Journal of European Public Policy. , 2581, Economics, 2633, Banks & Banking, 2739, Commerce, 2582, Commercial Policy, 2583, Comparative, 2585, Development & Growth, 10806607011, Digital Currencies, 2586, Econometrics, 2587, Economic Conditions, 2589, Economic History, 2588, Economic Policy & Development, 1043856, Environmental Economics, 2591, Free Enterprise, 9147391011, Income Inequality, 2593, Inflation, 2611, Interest, 2595, Labor & Industrial Relations, 2596, Macroeconomics, 2597, Microeconomics, 2598, Money & Monetary Policy, 2599, Public Finance, 2601, Sustainable Development, 2602, Theory, 1043858, Unemployment, 2603, Urban & Regional, 3, Business & Money, 1000, Subjects, 283155, Books, 11288, Sociology, 16244271, Abuse, 271633011, Class, 297480, Death, 11291, Marriage & Family, 16311191, Medicine, 10582, Race Relations, 11293, Rural, 11294, Social Theory, 11296, Urban, 3377866011, Politics & Social Sciences, 1000, Subjects, 283155, Books, 5571271011, European, 11093, International & World Politics, 5571255011, Politics & Government, 3377866011, Politics & Social Sciences, 1000, Subjects, 283155, Books, 11086, History & Theory, 16022621, Political Science, 5571255011, Politics & Government, 3377866011, Politics & Social Sciences, 1000, Subjects, 283155, Books, 5571275011, Public Affairs & Policy, 5571276011, City Planning & Urban Development, 16022981, Communication Policy, 5571277011, Cultural Policy, 5571278011, Economic Policy, 5571280011, Environmental Policy, 5571279011, Intergovernmental Organizations, 5571281011, Non-Governmental Organizations, 10767, Public Affairs & Administration, 11113, Regional Planning, 10771, Social Policy, 11115, Social Security, 10580, Social Services & Welfare, 5571255011, Politics & Government, 3377866011, Politics & Social Sciences, 1000, Subjects, 283155, Books, 491472, Political History, 491464, Political Science, 468214, Social Sciences, 465600, New, Used & Rental Textbooks, 2349030011, Specialty Boutique, 283155, Books, 491470, International Relations, 491464, Political Science, 468214, Social Sciences, 465600, New, Used & Rental Textbooks, 2349030011, Specialty Boutique, 283155, Books, 491474, Public Policy, 491464, Political Science, 468214, Social Sciences, 465600, New, Used & Rental Textbooks, 2349030011, Specialty Boutique, 283155, Books
